Amidst the buzz surrounding the Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant wedding, social media has been abuzz with content from the event.
While many influencers eagerly shared their experiences, Instagram personality Kavya Karnatac recently revealed that she declined an offer of ₹3.6 lakh to discuss how the Ambani wedding would benefit the Indian economy.
Karnatac detailed her reasons for turning down the offer in a recent post. She emphasized her desire to maintain her individuality and avoid blending into the crowd, stating,
“Aligning with an extensively promoted event like the Ambani wedding would compromise my brand’s distinctiveness.”
She also criticized the offer in light of Jio’s recent hike in internet charges, noting,
“Promoting a corporate giant such as Ambani felt disingenuous. Trust is built through consistent honesty, and my audience is astute enough to distinguish between paid promotions and authentic content. Preserving their trust is essential.”
In her third point, Karnatac highlighted that the prevalent issues of caste, class, gender, and religion in Indian weddings contradict her values. As an educator, she believes promoting such events can be misleading. She concluded,
“Although ₹3.6 lakh is an appealing offer, the long-term value of maintaining my integrity far surpasses the immediate financial gain. Integrity fosters a loyal following, which is invaluable.”
Her LinkedIn post has since garnered nearly 6,000 likes and numerous comments. One user praised her decision, saying,
“I’ve heard how people are being paid to write positive posts about the Ambani wedding and its impact on Indian culture. I’m impressed by Kavya Karnatac’s commitment to her principles. It’s refreshing to see that not everyone is swayed by money.”
Another commenter applauded her bravery, stating, “Well done, Kavya Karnatac. Not everyone has the courage to prioritize integrity over financial incentives and to promote only genuine content.
