Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are two of the biggest superstars in Indian cinema. Veteran actor Govind Namdev, who has starred in hit films alongside both of them, recently shared his experiences working with the iconic actors in an interview.
Recalling his time on the set of the 2000 film Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Govind spoke about Shah Rukh Khan’s dedication.
He noted that Shah Rukh Khan, who was also the producer of the film, exhibited an extraordinary work ethic.
“I had heard about workaholics, but I saw it for the first time with Shah Rukh Khan,” Govind said in an interview with Bollywood Bubble. “He worked day and night. After wrapping up the day, he mingled with the crew, and then as a producer, he continued working till 2 AM. Despite this, he would catch an early morning flight to Chennai for an event and return to resume shooting. He barely slept for three to four hours. He smokes like a chimney and constantly thinks about his work. Despite being a superstar, he has no attitude or tantrums.”
In contrast, Govind described Salman Khan as more reserved on set. While working together on the Boney Kapoor-backed action film Wanted, Govind observed that Salman preferred to keep to himself.
“He doesn’t interact much; it’s strictly about work with him,” Govind remarked. “There was no personal talk, except occasionally sharing anecdotes about how his father would discipline them. He is the opposite of Shah Rukh in terms of interacting with others.”
