Gaurav Taneja’s Pitch on Shark Tank India 4
During his pitch, Gaurav revealed the impressive sales of his brand, which caught the attention of Snapdeal’s co-founder Kunal Bahl. He asked Gaurav about his decision to venture into this business, given his academic background, and questioned what led him to choose a path so different from most IIT graduates, who often work at top companies like Google or Facebook.
Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt, pointed out that many influencers are now starting their own brands, while Peyush Bansal, CEO of Lenskart, questioned how much an influencer can earn in today’s world. Vineeta Singh, CEO of Sugar Cosmetics, bluntly asked, “You earned Rs. 1 crore in one hour, so why are you here asking for Rs. 1 crore?” The promo left viewers wondering whether Gaurav secured a deal, but he responded confidently to Vineeta’s question, saying:
‘Just like the ‘Beast’ in the name ‘Beast Life’, my everything is in this. If this fails, I can’t create another one (brand). This is my life.”
Gaurav Taneja Takes the Stage
In another promo, Vineeta and Kunal discussed the next contestant, and when Kunal revealed it was Gaurav Taneja, Vineeta was shocked, saying, “Gaurav Taneja?! He’s coming?” Gaurav entered the stage with a lighthearted comment:
“Sharks, these days, all founders want to become influencers. Don’t know where they get the urge from.”
The Impressive Sales of Beast Life
Gaurav introduced Beast Life, explaining that the brand is not just a health supplement company but a “healthy way of life.” His partner shared that Beast Life had made Rs. 1 crore in sales within just one hour of its launch, leaving the sharks in awe. Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt, called it the “dream,” but it was Gaurav’s investment request that truly stunned the panel. He concluded his pitch by asking for:
“Rs. 1 crore for 1 percent equity.”
