The clip, reportedly from the song launch event for Hukkush Phukkush in Mumbai, shows fans—primarily kids involved in the movie’s promotion—eagerly surrounding Kartik while seemingly ignoring Sonu Nigam.
Despite being a celebrated playback singer, Sonu was passed by as children flocked to the actor for selfies and attention.
While a few fans acknowledged Sonu by taking selfies and touching his feet, the majority overlooked him, sparking criticism online. Many fans expressed disappointment over the kids’ lack of recognition for Sonu’s iconic status, with one user commenting,
“Sad that kids today don’t recognize true talent. Sonu Nigam is a legend, a self-made star without the new-gen PR.”
