Billionaire Elon Musk recently voiced his views regarding his estranged transgender daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson’s criticisms of Donald Trump. Following Trump’s 2024 presidential victory, Wilson announced her decision to leave the United States, expressing concerns over anti-trans policies and the sustained support Trump enjoys among voters.
In a post on Threads, Wilson stated,
“I’ve thought this for a while, but yesterday confirmed it for me. I don’t see my future being in the United States.” She further criticized the political climate, highlighting apprehensions about anti-trans regulations and the permanence of Trump’s influence: “Even if he’s only in office for 4 years, even if the anti-trans regulations magically don’t happen, the people who willingly voted this in are not going anywhere anytime soon.”

Elon Musk, responding on X, remarked, “The woke mind virus killed my son,” implying that Wilson’s ideological differences had caused a rift.

Wilson replied with a blunt rebuttal, challenging Musk’s stance as a “sob-story” narrative. She posted, “So, you’re still going with the sob-story about how ‘woe is me’… Just don’t… please don’t look into it, god forbid I’m anything but the victim in every scenario imaginable.”
Further, Wilson suggested Musk’s frustration stemmed from his inability to control her decision, saying, “If I’m correct, the reason why this particular post is the one that got to you is that you’re mad that you finally don’t have power over someone.”

Wilson, who has identified as transgender and legally distanced herself from her father since 2022, has been estranged from Musk for over two years. Musk has openly discussed the pain of this separation, likening it to the loss of his first son, Nevada, and attributing the rift to Wilson’s adoption of “extreme ideologies” that reject wealth, stating, “She went beyond socialism to being a full communist and thinking that anyone rich is evil.”
