A passionate fan faced disappointment after cycling over 1,200 kilometers from Delhi to Ranchi, hoping to meet his idol, MS Dhoni, but was unable to do so despite camping outside Dhoni’s farmhouse for days.
The fan, Gaurav Kumar, embarked on this journey with the sole aim of meeting the former Indian cricket captain. He waited at the gates of Dhoni’s Ranchi residence for nearly a week, even sleeping in a tent outside, hoping to catch a glimpse of Dhoni.
Although Gaurav did manage to see Dhoni a couple of times as he drove out, the cricketer did not stop to interact, only waving from inside his car.
Gaurav had been using social media to share his story, hoping it would reach Dhoni.
However, it seems that Dhoni, unaware of Gaurav’s efforts, did not stop to meet him. This incident led to some fans criticizing Dhoni on social media, labeling him “arrogant.”

Interestingly, Dhoni is known for frequently stopping to greet and click pictures with fans outside his farmhouse. It’s possible that on this occasion, he was in a hurry or unaware of Gaurav’s long journey. This isn’t Gaurav’s first attempt to meet Dhoni—he had previously cycled to Chennai during the IPL but was unsuccessful then as well.
MS Dhoni, now 42, is expected to play one final season in the Indian Premier League, with Chennai Super Kings likely to retain him for the 2025 edition.
