A man from Delhi, identified as Manan Singh, recently shared his embarrassing experience on Reddit after ordering a pack of condoms through Swiggy Instamart. Singh, who had planned a trip to Nainital later that evening, requested the delivery to be left at his office reception. To his dismay, the package arrived in a transparent pink plastic bag, making its contents visible to everyone.
Taking to Reddit’s Delhi community, he posted, “Swiggy Instamart ruined me!” and explained his ordeal.
“Buying condoms isn’t a big deal, but I usually order them through Blinkit because they use discreet brown packaging. This time, I tried Swiggy Instamart, assuming the packaging would be similar,” he wrote. Singh admitted that he didn’t think twice before asking the delivery executive to leave the package at the reception desk.
“To my horror, it was left there in full view, right in front of the receptionist. Now, the entire office probably thinks I do seggs at work!” he joked, expressing his embarrassment.
Along with his post, Singh shared a photo of the condom packet in its conspicuous packaging, which quickly garnered over 8,700 upvotes and sparked discussions online.
Here’s the post:
Many users chimed in with their opinions. One suggested, “Distribute your embarrassment to your colleagues.” Another questioned, “Who in their right mind orders condoms at work?”
A third commenter noted the potential workplace implications, adding, “Ordering condoms at the office front desk could trigger POSH policies if it makes someone uncomfortable. Repeated incidents might lead to consequences.”
The incident highlights the importance of discretion in packaging, especially for sensitive products, and sparked a lively conversation about the unexpected pitfalls of modern convenience.
