Ashneer Grover, co-founder and managing director of BharatPe, recently expressed his frustration with long wait times at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Grover, who has previously worked at top positions in Kotak Financing Bank, American Express, Grofers, and PC Jeweller, took to Twitter to offer suggestions on improving the situation.
Ashneer Grover, who gained fame as a judge on Shark Tank India before being replaced by Amit Jain in Season 2, criticized the excessive wait times at the airport’s Terminal 3.
In a series of tweets, he shared his displeasure over the time it took to enter the airport, calling for an “overhaul” of the system.
He suggested:
- Separate entry gates for international and business-class passengers.
- Reducing the number of people checking tickets and IDs at the gates.
- Launching direct international flights to destinations like the US, UK, and Canada from Chandigarh Airport, to alleviate the heavy traffic at Delhi Airport, especially from Punjab-based travelers.
Delhi Airport’s Response
In response to Grover’s tweets, the Delhi Airport acknowledged his suggestions. They mentioned that facilities like separate terminal entrances, security, and immigration counters are available for international and business-class passengers. They also noted that immigration processes are controlled by sovereign functions globally, and as an airport operator, they consistently work on improving operations.
