A couple traveling on the Vande Bharat express train from Bhopal to Agra, a 550 km journey taking about seven hours, encountered a shocking surprise when they found a cockroach in their meal.
Vidit Varshney, who was one of the passengers, shared a picture of the meal on the social media platform X, tagging Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and the IRCTC, which handles catering and ticketing for Indian Railways. He complained about the poor hygiene standards on the train.

Varshney demanded strict action against the food vendor and asked the Railways to ensure such incidents don’t happen again. In response, the IRCTC apologized, stating, ”
Sir, We apologize for the travel experience you had. The matter has been viewed seriously, and a suitable penalty has been imposed on the concerned service provider. We have also intensified the production and logistics monitoring.”

Bizarre Consumer Surprises
Recently, consumers have faced some shocking experiences. From a live snake wrapped around an Amazon package to a severed finger found in ice cream, these incidents have left people disturbed.
In Bengaluru, a woman received a terrifying surprise when she found a live Spectacled Cobra wrapped around her Amazon package containing an Xbox controller. Fortunately, the snake was stuck to the packaging tape and didn’t harm her.
In Mumbai, Dr. Orlem Brandon Serrao made a chilling discovery in his ice cream delivery—a human finger. Initially mistaking it for a nut, Dr. Serrao was horrified to realize it was a finger, which he described as a traumatic experience.
Another consumer, Prami Sridhar, found a dead rat in a bottle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup ordered through Zepto. Ms. Sridhar reported finding “small hair continuously” dripping along with the sauce in a social media post.
