Defying All Odds, ‘Padmaavat’ Has Defeated Dangal & Bahubali 2 In Overseas Collections


Despite the controversy and violence continuing to overcast Padmaavat’s name, the gala affair form Sanjay Leela Bhansali has done wonders at the box office.


Amid violent clashes, protests by fringe groups, CBFC’s scrutiny and enhanced security, the film took to the theatres on 25 January. The collections of the film so far only brings great signs for filmmakers who have invested handsomely in this film. Apparently this stellar film is made in a budget of 200 Crores.

The movie which features Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh has won some hefty appreciation to its name. Among the actors of the film it’s Ranveer Singh who takes the maximum appreciation home for his stellar performance as Alauddin Khilji in the film.


Padmaavat Smashes Records The movie has smashed some biggest hits in the history in terms of overseas collections. While release in India stayed limited for the fear of violence, the movie triggered great enthusiasm in the audience abroad.

The film has defeated Dangal and Bahubali 2 in terms of overseas collection. These overseas collections take into account United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. The film earned 1.88 crores in Australia while the collections from New Zealand and United Kingdom remained at 29. 99 Lakhs and 88 Lakhs respectively. (These figures are for paid previews)

The movie has earned 2.8 crores overseas from paid previews. Big hits like Dangal and Bahubali 2 have been surpassed by the film While Dangal earned 1.5 crores, Bahubali 2 collected 1.3 crores from paid previews. Clearly, Padmaavat wins with a great margin.
