Padmaavat released on 25th January, 2018 and was highly appreciated and was crtically acclaimed by everyone. Everyone showered their love and appreciation on the lead actors of the movie, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. Sanjay Leela Bhansali charmed everyone with his brilliant direction.
It was the third movie of the actress Deepika Padukone with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, before Padmaavat the duo worked together in the movies, Goliyon ki Rasleela: Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. Everytime the duo worked together, they have created a magic on-screen, they have delivered an epic performance for the audience.
There’s no hidden secret that Deepika Padukone is an epitome of brilliance and perfection when it comes to her acting skills. Deepika Padukone has always made us fall in love with her brilliant acting skills and killer looks. Deepika has left many leading ladies far behind her in terms of payment and popularity.
Yet again Deepika Padukone has proved her brilliance with Padmaavat. Everyone was in awe of the way she played the role of Queen Padmaavati with so much ease and perfection and gave everyone goosebumps with the climax of the movie when she performed Jauhar.
Not just us, but even Sanjay Leela Bhansali was mesmerized after watching Deepika perform the Jauhar scene, he was left speechless. Here’s what he said about Deepika Padukone, :
“Deepika is one of the finest artistes I’ve worked with. Such thehrao and such grace! She never surrenders to melodrama even when there is ample temptation to do so. Look at the scene where she gives a speech in front of the women before they commit jauhar. Such control, restraint and so much emotive power without tripping over.”
Sanjay Leela was so mesmerized by her performance that apart from her payment for the movie which was Rs.11 crores, he gave Rs.500 as a reward to the actress. He said:
“I was so overwhelmed by how she handled the scene that I gave her a Rs 500 note after she finished it. I am sure that token of my appreciation is more valuable and precious to her than the entire remuneration she got for the film.”
“From some angles, she reminds me of Vyjayanthimalaji. Sometimes she reminds me of Hemaji. And the grace with which she performed the Ghoomar dance reminds me of Waheedaji. I strongly believe Deepika has the potential to join the ranks of our legendary actresses.”
Every girl who wants to make it big in this industry, dreams of hearing such appreciating words from the one of the best directors of Bollywood, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone is the luckiest and the most deserving one of them all.
