The popular YouTuber couple, Gaurav Taneja and Ritu Rathee, have found themselves at the center of separation rumours. Speculation began when Ritu missed a family vacation, and Gaurav chose not to mention her absence in his vlog.
Further fuelling the rumours, on September 28, 2024, Gaurav shared a cryptic post on Instagram in Devnagri, which read, “Joi Joi mohe pyaar kare, soi mohe have,” translating to “I love those who love me.” This message intensified the gossip surrounding their relationship.
In response, Ritu Rathee broke her silence and addressed the rumours in an emotional video titled ‘Divorce Reality Check.’ She criticized the gossipers and stated that she didn’t require validation or support from social media. Speaking about her relationship with Gaurav, she said,
“A small thing happened between a husband and wife. He thought he was right, I thought I was right. He became stubborn, and so did I. But does that mean that you will tell me what kind of a man he was? I know that man inside out. I don’t need to hear from you whether he is genuine, whether he was loyal. I have seen him go through every situation.”
Ritu also dismissed the idea of being portrayed as a helpless woman (‘abla nari’) and emphasized that she is fully capable of raising her children. She confirmed that she had indeed sought guidance from spiritual leader Premanand Govind Sharan Ji but added that she didn’t need advice from social media.
“I don’t need support from social media. I quit social media one year ago and I don’t regret it. People who live in glass houses love to gossip about others.”
