Kusha Kapila, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, has spoken out against the ‘Pretty Good Roast Show With Ashish Solanki,’ criticizing Samay Raina and others for their offensive jokes.
Starting her career as an entertainment writer, Kusha has transitioned into a successful social media influencer and actress, known for her roles in films like “Thank You For Coming” and “Sukhee.” She is set to appear in the upcoming movie “Life Hill Gayi.”
Kusha Kapila Expresses Disappointment Over the Roast
In a recent YouTube community post, Kusha revealed her disappointment with the roast show. She explained that the roast was an unpaid collaboration intended for entertainment, and the jokes were not shared with her beforehand, leaving her unprepared for the derogatory comments made. She stated:
“I endured some really harsh jokes in front of a live audience and technicians. I was not okay with it being broadcast to millions of people, as some jokes dehumanized me. It was shockingly unkind.”
Mixed Reactions and Kusha’s Stance
Kusha highlighted that while some people normalized the below-the-belt jokes, others were empathetic towards her. Despite feeling disheartened, she chose not to leave the roast midway. She added:
” I am glad y’all enjoy the roast. That’s why I stayed – to enjoy it and have the best time, and I did to the best of my ability until it went too far. We all have boundaries that should be respected. I may have sat for the roast, but I don’t stand for everything that came out of it. I take pride in not staging a walkout and finding the strength to still perform after what was thrown at me.”
Samay Raina’s Offensive Remarks
Samay Raina’s roast included personal attacks on Kusha’s life and divorce, labeling her a gold digger and making derogatory comments about her sexuality, which were censored from the show. He even made a jibe about her pet dog, suggesting it should live with her ex-husband Zorawar.
Kusha Kapila’s Professional Handling of the Roast
Though Kusha appeared to enjoy the roast in the video, she later opened up about the episode during an AMA session on Instagram. When asked how she handled the brutal roast, she responded:
“Not my first time on the rodeo. In the large scheme of things, nothing matters. Probably when I have processed all of it, I will speak about it on a level-headed podcast (lol do we have any) or maybe never. We will see. This profile continues to be a safe space for my female and queer followers.”
