Avneet Kaur, a well-known actress in the Indian entertainment industry, has recently been accused of fraud by the jewellery brand Rang. The brand alleges that Kaur failed to honor her commitment, despite several reminders.
Jewellery Brand Rang’s Claims Against Avneet Kaur
On August 6, 2024, Rang took to Instagram to reveal that Kaur had borrowed jewellery from their collection for her recent European trip. She had agreed to tag Rang in her social media posts in return. However, despite her massive following of 32 million on Instagram, she did not fulfill this promise.
Evidence of the Alleged Misconduct
Rang provided screenshots to support their claim, showing that Kaur wore their jewellery but tagged only high-end brands like Dior and Vivienne Westwood. The brand pointed out that despite using Rang’s pieces multiple times during her month-long trip, Kaur did not credit them in any of her posts. Rang attempted to resolve the issue through Kaur’s stylist, but received no response.
They remarked:
“Throughout her European vacation, Avneet wore our jewellery seven times. Despite wearing Rang alongside luxury brands like Dior and Vivienne Westwood, she tagged only these high-end brands, falsely representing them as the source of her accessories.”

When Rang initially contacted Kaur, she assured them that she would post the necessary tags. However, she failed to do so and later offered to pay for the jewellery. After sending her an invoice, Kaur remained unresponsive for over a month. Upon receiving the invoice, she claimed she thought it was part of a collaboration and decided not to pay but to post an Instagram story instead.
Brand’s Statement on Celebrity Exploitation
Rang expressed their dissatisfaction with Kaur’s offer to post a story, viewing it as inadequate and exploitative of small brands. In their post, Rang stated:
“As a small brand, we invest our passion into every piece and value our customers, stylists, and celebrity partners. By sharing this story, we aim to protect others from similar exploitation. This isn’t about shaming anyone but about revealing the truth.”
