At 81, Amitabh Bachchan remains one of Bollywood’s busiest stars, frequently asked why he continues to work. From hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati to acting in films like Kalki 2898 AD, the legendary actor shows no signs of slowing down. In his recent blog, Big B shared that during the shoot of a KBC episode, he was questioned about his reasons for still working, to which he responded simply: because he’s still getting work.
“They often ask me on set why I’m still working, and honestly, I don’t have any other answer than it being another job opportunity,” Amitabh wrote. He emphasized that others may have their own opinions about his work, but he chooses to keep working because it’s what he knows and loves. He further added that while people are entitled to their opinions, he is equally entitled to continue his work, regardless of what others might think.
Amitabh Bachchan elaborated on the nature of work, saying,
“When work is offered to you, you take it. My reasons may differ from yours, but they are mine. You build your narratives, and I stick to my work. Sandcastles may fall, but my work stands firm. I WORK… PERIOD. Got a problem with that? Then get to work and see for yourself.”
He also mentioned that he recently filmed the Ganapati Mahotsav episode of KBC, continuing his long-standing association with the show, except for one season hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. In the coming months, Amitabh will appear in films like Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 and Vettaiyan with Rajinikanth.
