The latest episode of Bigg Boss 18 Weekend Ka Vaar saw a heated exchange between Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and fintech entrepreneur Ashneer Grover. Salman confronted Ashneer, calling out his alleged “doglapan” — a term popularized by the former Shark Tank India judge in 2021, which translates to “double standards” and also serves as the title of his book.
During the episode, Salman questioned Ashneer about his previous remarks regarding the actor’s endorsement fees. Salman said, “I heard you saying, ‘We signed him for this amount and that amount,’ and none of your figures were correct. So, what’s with the double standards?”

ToggleIn response to Salman’s comments, Ashneer Grover took to LinkedIn to address the confrontation.
He wrote,
*”I hope you enjoyed the Bigg Boss weekend ka vaar! I had good fun, and I’m sure this episode garnered excellent TRP/viewership. Here’s the truth behind my statements:
- Salman is a great host and actor.
- Salman knows what works on Bigg Boss.
- I’ve always praised Salman for his self-awareness and business sense—never said anything demeaning about him.
- My deal figures are accurate (verified by banks and auditors).
- I met Salman in May 2019 at JW Marriott Juhu for an exclusive 3-hour brand collaboration meeting with the ad’s director. It’s okay if he doesn’t remember me—I wasn’t a public figure then, and he meets countless people.
- The invitation to Bigg Boss wasn’t ‘unnamed’—just like the cheque for it wasn’t.
- And finally, I now have a picture with him, which I didn’t earlier (no managers around).
Thanks, Salman Khan. Keep rocking!”*
What Happened on Bigg Boss 18?
The clash stemmed from Ashneer’s 2022 interaction with students at Lovely Professional University, where he shared details about signing Salman Khan for a brand endorsement. He claimed Salman’s team had asked for ₹7.5 crore, and when he tried negotiating, Salman’s manager allegedly remarked,
“Sir aap bhindi khareedne aaye ho kya? Kitni maandvali karoge?” (Sir, are you here to buy vegetables? How much more will you bargain?)
Salman refuted these claims on the show, calling the figures inaccurate. Ashneer clarified, “Maybe in the podcast, it didn’t come across as I intended.”
However, Salman countered, “But the way you are talking now, and the video I saw of you, this wasn’t your attitude back then.” He also revealed that he only recognized Ashneer after seeing his video, admitting he didn’t know his name earlier.
“I just got to know that you are coming here. I did not know your name also. Since I had seen your video, I recognised your face. I think you should be careful about how you present yourself,” Mr Khan added. Mr Grover once also called out Mr Khan’s “heropanti” after the actor’s manager instructed him not to take a picture with Mr Khan, citing the actor’s discomfort.
Adding another layer to their dynamic, Ashneer had previously criticized Salman’s “heropanti” when the actor’s manager denied him a photo with Salman, citing the actor’s discomfort. This time, however, Ashneer finally got his picture with Salman.
The episode highlighted a mix of banter and serious confrontation, making it a noteworthy segment in Bigg Boss 18.
