Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap, has made waves with her candid commentary on the ongoing wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, likening the affair to a ‘circus’. Despite being invited, Aaliyah chose not to partake in the celebrations.
Taking to her Instagram platform, Aaliyah voiced her perspective, stating,
“The Ambani wedding is no longer just a wedding; it’s turned into a circus.”
While she admitted to finding fascination in glimpses of the opulent event and the lifestyles of the wealthy, she declined the invitation to attend.
“I received invitations to certain events, presumably for PR reasons (???? don’t ask me why), but I declined,” Aaliyah explained. “I value my self-respect too much to participate in someone’s extravagant wedding.”
Aaliyah didn’t hold back when critiquing the lavishness of the event, particularly targeting Justin Bieber’s performance at Anant and Radhika’s sangeet ceremony.
“It’s as if they had extra money lying around and decided, ‘Let’s call JUSTIN BIEBER,'” she remarked.
Justin Bieber reportedly charged a staggering Rs 84 crore for his sangeet performance, where he delighted attendees with his chart-topping hits.

In addition to Bieber’s performance, the sangeet saw appearances by a roster of Bollywood stars including Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Ananya Panday, Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Badshah, Karan Aujla, and others, adding to the spectacle.
Anant and Radhika’s wedding festivities are slated to culminate with a traditional ceremony on July 12 in Mumbai, followed by an ‘Ashirwad’ ceremony on July 13 and a grand reception on July 14.
