An Amazon customer experienced a surprising incident when the e-commerce giant delivered a pressure cooker nearly two years after he had canceled the order. The customer, identified as Jay, shared this unusual experience on X (formerly Twitter), amusing and baffling social media users alike.
According to Jay’s post, he originally placed the order for the pressure cooker on October 1, 2022.
However, due to a change in plans, he canceled the order shortly thereafter and received a refund. To his astonishment, the package unexpectedly arrived at his doorstep on August 28, 2024—almost two years after the cancellation.
Jay humorously captioned his post,
“Thank you, Amazon, for delivering my order after 2 years. The cook is elated after the prolonged wait; it must be a very special pressure cooker.”

The post quickly went viral, with social media users having a field day. Some joked that the pressure cooker might have been “made on Mars,” while others quipped that it was “handcrafted by very skilled craftsmen.”
Amidst the lighthearted banter, Amazon responded to Jay’s post, apologizing and suggesting he report the incident to their support team.
“Hi there, we’re sorry to hear this. Kindly report this to our support team.”
Jay, however, pointed out the irony:
“Report what? The order was cancelled and refunded back in 2022? And delivered out of nowhere yesterday. How do I pay for it now?”
This peculiar incident has certainly entertained the online community, showing that sometimes, in a world of instant gratification, patience—or perhaps a good sense of humor—can truly be rewarding.
