Allu Arjun Addresses the Incident
The pan-Indian superstar, known for his stellar performance in Pushpa 2: The Rule, was at the center of controversy on December 13, 2024. He was arrested and placed in 14-day judicial custody following a tragic incident during a screening of his film. Although granted bail, he had to spend the night in jail due to procedural rules. Upon his release on December 14, Allu Arjun expressed his sorrow over the events, emphasizing his faith in the legal system.
In his first statement, Allu Arjun thanked his fans for their unwavering support and reassured them that he was doing well. The actor affirmed his commitment to cooperating with the investigation, adding:
“I am doing fine and alright; nothing to worry. I am a law-abiding citizen; I will respect the law and cooperate with the police in the case proceedings and do the needful. It’s very unfortunate that we went to watch a film and there was an unfortunate incident. It was totally unintentional and as a result there was a loss of a life. We are always sorry for whatever happened, and it was out of my personal control.”

The incident occurred during Allu Arjun’s surprise visit to Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre during a screening of Pushpa 2. The excitement among fans led to a stampede, tragically resulting in a woman’s death and her son sustaining critical injuries. The actor was detained under Sections 118(1) and 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
Family’s Emotional Struggle
Speaking about the impact on his family, Allu Arjun described the situation as deeply challenging. He stated:
“I have been going to watch my uncle’s (Chiranjeevi) films too for over 30 years but nothing of this sort has ever happened. It’s unfortunate and I will be there for the family to support them in whatever way I can. When the law is taking its own course of action I should not interfere in the case and I don’t want to talk anything about it from legal stand point. I believe in the law. It’s definitely a very challenging situation for the family.”

Following his release, several Tollywood stars, including Vijay Deverakonda, Naga Chaitanya, and Rana Daggubati, visited Allu Arjun at his residence to show their support.
