Another story Aasif shared was from the sets of their 1998 film Bandhan. Salman, who owned an Esteem car, made Aasif sit beside him and began driving along the footpaths. Recalling his reaction, Aasif mentioned warning,
“Mai ne kaha, ‘Salman, pakde jayenge’. Kehta ‘Pakde jayenge toh yaar Salman Khan hain ghabrao mat. Aage pakad liya traffic wale na, usne genuinely nahi pechana us time, vo kehta hai, ‘Isne toh pehchana nahi’. Mai ne kaha, ‘Shirt utar shayad pehchaan le.'”

In September 2002, Salman Khan faced legal trouble due to a hit-and-run incident where his car crashed into a bakery in Mumbai, leading to the death of a person sleeping on the pavement and injuring three others. Although initially charged, the case shifted when the driver claimed responsibility for the accident.
