There is nothing more beautiful than becoming parents and everyone has an equal right to experience parenthood. However, sometimes due to medical and other reasons, several people face more difficulties than others. But thanks to science and technology now there are multiple ways for a couple to become parents.
In fact, several Bollywood couples have opted for other ways to experience the joy of parenthood. On Thursday, Bollywood actress Preity Zinta announced the arrival of her twins through surrogacy. But she isn’t the first celebrity to go for surrogacy.
Here, we bring you a list of a few Bollywood couples who opted for surrogacy. Have a look:
1. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao:
Aamir Khan was already blessed with two kids – Unaid and Ira with his first wife, Reena. However, when his second wife Kiran Rao suffered a miscarriage and other complications, the couple decided to have a child through surrogacy (IVF). In 2011, the couple was blessed with a son Azad Rao through surrogacy.
2. Tusshar Kapoor:
Bollywood actor, Tusshar Kapoor also opted for surrogacy as he made the choice to be a single father. He was blessed with a son, Laksshya Kapoor, who was born in June 2016.
3. Ekta Kapoor:
The Queen of the television industry, Ekta Kapoor followed her brother’s footsteps and decided to go for surrogacy and made the choice to be a single mother. Ekta Kapoor followed suit not long after and had her baby boy Ravie Kapoor in January 2019.
4. Karan Johar:
Bollywood ace producer and director Karan Johar also welcomed his twins through surrogacy in February 2017. He took a big and inspirational step as he didn’t care about what society thought and brought his babies home. He named his adorable twins Yash and Roohi. Today, he is living a happy life with his kids.
5. Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber:
It was in 2017 when Sunny Leone left the world amazed when she announced that she and her husband had adopted a girl named Nisha. One year later, she took everyone by surprise once again as she announced that the couple have welcomed their twins Noah and Asher through surrogacy.

In 2020, Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra welcomed their little daughter, Samisha Shetty Kundra through surrogacy. The big news was shared by the happy parents via their official social media handles. “Samisha Shetty Kundra… Born:15th February 2020 … Junior SSK in the house…”
7. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan:
It was in May 2013, when King Khan and his wife Gauri Khan welcomed their third child, AbRam Khan through surrogacy. “Amidst all the noise that has been going around, the sweetest is the one made by our new-born baby, AbRam,” SRK said in a statement at the time.
8. Preity Zinta and Gene Goodenough:
The latest couple to join this list is the gorgeous Preity Zinta and her husband Gene Goodenough. On 18th November, Preity took to her Twitter handle and shared big news with her fans, wherein she revealed how happy and grateful she felt on welcoming her twins, Jai Zinta Goodenough and Gia Zinta Goodenough into the world. She wrote:
“Hi everyone, I wanted to share our amazing news with all of you today. Gene & I are overjoyed & our hearts are filled with so much gratitude & with so much love as we welcome our twins Jai Zinta Goodenough & Gia Zinta Goodenough into our family.”
