Kunal Kamra In Legal Trouble Because Of His Latest Tweet On Supreme Court

Comedian Kunal Kamra seems to be getting himself into trouble because of some of his recent tweets after the Supreme Court of India decided to release the journalist Arnab Goswami on interim bail.

Arnab Goswami was arrested from his house in Mumbai a week ago on the charges of abetment of suicide in a case which was reopened after being closed last year.

Many people were not happy with Arnab’s arrest as they thought it was politically motivated since the Maharashtra government didn’t like the way Arnab was criticizing them on a daily basis on his republic news channel.

Arnab initially applied for bail in Bombay High Court, but he was denied the bail there and was asked to go to the sessions court, but Arnab’s lawyer rather moved the supreme court and the supreme Court granted the bail as the judges, looking into the matter, thought Arnab couldn’t be denied the personal liberty based on the allegations that was laid upon him.

The judgment of the Apex court, however, didn’t sit well with Kamra who is believed to be a critic of right wing politics. Kamra suggested on his Twitter account that the pictures of Mahatma Gandhi in this country should now be replaced by the pictures of Harish Salve, the lawyer who was representing Arnab in the case.

Kamra also tweeted a morphed picture of Supreme Court where Supreme Court can be seen in saffron colors and the flag that’s hoisted over it is the flag of BJP and not the flag of India.

Kamra’s tweets have been taken by some of the lawyers as the contempt of court and have already been brought in the notice of the court. It remains to be seen if Kamra gets penalised for his tweets.
