Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Nitish Rana did a brilliant gesture yesterday, which has melted the hearts of many, apart from winning the match for his side in a dominant performance against Delhi Capitals. The southpaw scored 81 runs and contributed in the much-needed win for the Knights alongside Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy, who was adjudged the Man of the Match after he picked up five wickets for just 20 runs to decimate the Capitals.
However, it is the gesture shown by Rana which is winning the hearts of many, including his wife. After he reached the 50 run mark yesterday, the left-hander went onto show his respect for his deceased father in law Surinder as he held up a jersey with his name imprinted on the back of it. Rana’s father in law passed away just the day before and it was indeed a gesture that was applauded by several people on social media.

Rana’s wife Saachi Marwah Rana showed her appreciation for the gesture as she posted a picture of Rana holding the jersey in his hand on her Instagram story with the caption, “Papa look your son showed his world to the whole world”. The post went viral on the various social media platforms in the matter of hours. The classy southpaw has played a pivotal role in steadying the ship for KKR after their dismal start to the IPL this year.
