Smriti Irani reacts to Payal Ghosh’s MeToo allegation against Anurag Kashyap

Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap has found himself in some deep troubles as he has been allegedly accused of harassing actress Payal Ghosh.

In an interview with ABN Telugu, the actress recounted the incident claiming that Anurag Kashyap told her that ‘she should not think of denying a big star like him’, as it would allegedly ‘benefit her in the future’. Not just this, Payal also revealed how he threatened her to stay quiet about the incident, reminding her of ‘acid attacks’ on women. She revealed:

“When I felt uncomfortable, he told me you do not have to feel shy because my girls do it all the time. They are just a call away, they have a good time with me. He proudly took the names of the women he has been with and spoke about his relationships with me even though he barely knew me. That revealed how much he disrespected women,”

Now on Sunday, Union Minister Smriti Irani, who is handling the Ministry of Women & Child Development, finally reacted on the sensational accusations against Anurag Kashyap. Though she refused to speak anything on this matter but she mentioned how NCW will go ahead with this case. She said:

“I am in a Constitutional position that oversees the National Commission for Women. NCW has made a public statement, hence it will be inappropriate for me to digress and get into their constitutional area about how they want to go ahead with a particular case.”

Meanwhile, National Commission for Women chairperson Rekha Sharma replied to her tweet and asked Payal Ghosh to file an official complaint to the NCW. Rekha Sharma wrote:

You may send me the detailed complaint at [email protected] and @NCWIndia will look into it. @iampayalghosh”
