Do you know that some of the superhit movies that you have seen in the last few years might have had a different starcast? Yes, there have been a number of Bollywood movies where a different actor was initially signed for the lead role than the one who eventually did it.
These are the 5 actors who didn’t do the movies after signing it –
Kareena Kapoor was approached for a lead role in the movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hai where she was supposed to work alongside Hrithik Roshan.
Both Kareena and Hrithik were unknown faces in the industry at that stage and Kaho Na Pyaar Hai was going to be their debut movie. But, Kareena suddenly left the movie for some unknown reason.
Kareena then made her debut with another movie named Refugee where she was filmed opposite to Amitabh Bachchan’s son Abhishek Bachchan.
Hrithik worked with Ameesha Patel in the movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and it turned out to be a superhit movie.
Alia Bhatt was offered the movie Raabta where her hero was going to be the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Alia was thinking about doing the movie, but eventually, she had to reject it because of the date issues.
The movie then went to Kriti Sanon whose chemistry with Sushant Singh Rajput in Raabta was praised by one and all. Raabta was an action-romantic drama which was released in June 2017.
Sushant Singh Rajput
Sushant Singh Rajput, because of his Bihari background, would have perfectly fit into the character of Madhav Jha who was the lead character in the movie Half Girlfriend.
As per the reports, the production team of Half Girlfriend had approached Sushant for the role, but Sushant was about to start shooting for Raabta around the same time and he had to turn down the lead role in Half Girlfriend.
Madhav Jha’s character in Half Girlfriend was eventually played by Arjun Kapoor who also acted brilliantly in the movie.
Aishwarya Rai was finalized as the lead actress for the movie Chalte Chalte, but as per the reports, she had an altercation with her ex boyfriend Salman Khan on the sets of the movie which created ugly scenes and Aishwarya decided not to work in the movie any further.
The producer then signed Rani Mukherjee for the lead role and she ended up delivering a wonderful performance.
Jodha Akbar is one of the best movies of Hrithik Roshan’s career, but you would be surprised to know that Hrithik wouldn’t have worked in the movie at all if Ranbir Kapoor had accepted the lead role in the movie.
Ranbir himself revealed in one of his interviews that the movie Jodha Akbar was offered to him, but he didn’t sign it.
