Sushant Singh Rajput’s Last Movie Has Created A Record That Might Never Get Broken

Late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last movie ‘Dil Bechara’ has created a history , a record that might never get broken. Yes, you read that right. ‘Dil Bechara’ has registered the biggest ever opening for Disney+Hotstar. The movie marks the final act by Sushant, after his death on June 14.

Earlier, the Disney+Hotstar’s twitter account had tweeted:

“A film that will always be etched in the hearts of all Bollywood fans. Your love has made Dil Bechara the biggest movie opening. Ever,”

Here, check out the tweet:

Disney+Hotstar apptly put that over there. The movie was an emotional ride for the fans, who paid tribute to the late actor by watching it first day as it premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on Friday and later on, with their heartfelt posts after watching the movie. The fans made sure that the last movie of Sushant Singh Rajput breaks many records. Now an independent tracking firm suggests that the movie was watched by 95 million viewers in the first 24 hours of it’s release.

Well, as per a Mid-Day report, Ormax Media’s representative compared the viewership figures of the very popular web-series ‘Game of Thrones’ to that of ‘Dil Bechara’. In his report he stated:

“If one wants to, comparisons could be drawn [between the viewership] of Dil Bechara, and that of [the much-acclaimed series] Game of Thrones, and this was possible even though the latter had a pre-existing viewer-base, while the film [did not]. Then again, Hotstar promoted Dil Bechara from the onset, marketing its release date and time well in advance. Viewers showed up in unison to watch it.”

Besides this, an apples-to-apples comparison with a theatrical release, however impossible, was also drawn. Let’s take the average ticket price in India is taken as Rs. 100, then the last movie of SSR would have made Rs.950 crores. But as per a report by PVR Cinemas, the average ticket price across PVR cinemas in India in 2019 was Rs. 207, therefore, the estimated Box-Office earnings of Dil Bechara would have been around Rs. 2000 crore.
