Rana Daggubati joined the voicing parade of the movie fraternity after the whole nepotism debate soar higher with each passing day after the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Rana’s comments were more of a debacle but at the same time holds the open truth.
He claims that it is more of “an understanding of the Indian family” and that often times nepotism is a privilege. Let us refresh your memories that he belongs to a filmy background and his family has been a part of the industry for a long time. He is even backed by his own production house. In this following line if we consider what he says, he might sound genuine to the whole dysphoria against nepotism.
At an interview with the India Today e-Mind Rocks 2020, Rana Daggubati was quoted as saying,
“Without the skill, you cannot last in any industry. Nepotism comes from an Indian understanding of what a family is. If you have a father who has worked very hard, he will provide it to his family in the means they understand, which is through capital and knowledge. So, we will be part of the privileged people. I can’t take that away. That comes with greater responsibility.”
Adding to the part where he harped on the responsibility he said, “In a lockdown, we have to run a company with over 600 employees and pay them a salary. We have to make sure that the organization is back to its feet soon. There’s always a responsibility attached to it. Also, there’s no option of giving up and you’ve got to keep getting better.”
To the aspiring actors out there he advised with an endnote saying:
“Be observant of people. It comes from understanding life and people. Also, you have to figure out if you can resonate with their emotions. The more you do that, the more you become a better actor.”
That makes a lot of sense. Don’t you think?
