Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has once again provoked the debate of nepotism in Bollywood and whether it should exist or not. While some fans have opined that the actors should receive opportunities purely based on talent, others believe that nepotism can co-exist if the star kids can act well. A lot of star kids like Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, and others have won the hearts of the fans with their performance on the big screen.
Speaking of star kids, another star kid who tried to enter into the B-Town was Jamie Lever, the daughter of Johnny Lever. Following the footsteps of her father, Jamie is trying her best to become a comedian. She also worked as a host on a popular Sony TV show.
When asked about her view on nepotism, Jamie Lever hinted that the problem exists in the industry as if someone is a friend’s child then he gets the favors of the higher-ups. However, she clarified that her father never stayed close to the top Bollywood families. Johnny never attended filmy parties, and stayed with his family, treating his job as a regular job.
Jamie also clarified that she had never used her surname to get some preference in any audition and that she had attained her current position only by working hard on her skills. It will be intriguing to see if the B-Town listens to the fans because there is a very vocal movement on Twitter to boycott nepotism.
As far as Sushant Singh Rajput is concerned, his last film Dil Bechara will release on OTT platforms on 24th July.
