Bollywood Stars Are Trolling Adani For ‘Spiked’ Electricity Bills

The continual scene of the lockdown seems to be like the order for the rest of the year. Coronavirus kept us all inside homes from the fear of getting infected. While most of the unlock of the lockdown has witnessed a lot of people going back to the daily norms with much safety, there are also people who are still at home trying to avoid going out and socializing as much as possible.

Now being at home has brought upon another issue- using all the electrical appliances especially the lights and the air conditioning has shot up the bills by thousands. Not only for regular people but also for the celebs this has enormously crossed the budget.

With that being said Taapsee Pannu created a buzz on Twitter when she shared her electricity bill.

“3 months of lockdown and I wonder what appliance(s) I have newly used or bought in the apartment only last month to have such an insane rise in my electricity bill. @Adani_Elec_Mum what kind of POWER r u charging us for?”

While her close friend director Sujoy Ghosh replied by saying that she “earned so many electric smiles”, Taapsee was quick to react with “more like electric shocks”

Let us see what others had to say

“Film collection ke hisaab se bill dete hain”

“Instead Of Electric Smiles It Should Be Electric Shock”

“Same here Taapsee. Even after several phone calls and messages, all they did was justify their meter readings due to the pandemic. They said they couldn’t do anything about it. The best you can do I ask for a discount but they’ll still expect you to pay! They’re thugs.”

“So many people facing the same problem. Hi @Adani_Elec_Mum, care to respond?”

“Same has been reported by so many people across mumbai. It is said to be due to recent tarriff hike by Power distribution company. doesnt justify this amount though”

While she got the replies on her twitter handle by this post, KRK and actor Dino Morea too were seen highlighting the same issue on their respective handles.

“Dear @Adani_Elec_Mum my house is closed from 15th March 2020 and you are sending bill ₹20K per month. Are you serious? Is it not corruption?”

“I was just going to tweet about it. Literally got a shock, pun intended. There was no surge in electricity, just the bill”

Well, this is a serious toll, isn’t it?
