Former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi has once again created a stir on social media with his controversial statements but this time Shahid Afridi has targetted Abhinandan.
Yes, recently, in an interview, Shahid Afridi took a dig at the whole ‘Abhinandan’ issue by claiming that the Pakistan army dropped greetings from the air but Indians made him a hero. Not just this, he once again talked about the Kashmir issue, and this time he has accused India of a serious charge for doing politics of religion.
During a live TV program, Shahid Afridi said:
‘Pakistan’s army has always spoken positively, what can be a better example than this. We greeted the brothers who came flying in and sent them back with respect. Hindustan also made him a hero there, which we dropped and sent him back. Afridi further said, ‘What more can we do for you people. I mean that India should also take one or two steps forward. You should also work on the basis of that person.”
“If there were Hindu people in Kashmir and there was atrocities on them, I would still talk. It is not about religion, it is about humanity. Pakistan has always given positive signals to India. We have tried to improve relationships. Leaders always talk of connecting relationships and communities. In politics, religion should never be interrupted.”
He also talked about the recent tweets and statements from Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh, where they slammed Shahid Afridi for his controversial statements on Kashmir. He said:
‘I will be thankful to Yuvraj and Harbhajan, who supported my foundation. The real reason is that Yuvraj and Harbhajan are helpless. He is in India at the same time. They also know very well that those people are committing atrocities. They are just helpless and I will not say anything.”
For the unversed, it was a few days ago when Yuvraj took to his twitter and slammed Shahid Afridi for insulting the Indian army and PM Modi. Yuvi tweeted:
“Really disappointed by @SAfridiOfficial ‘s comments on our Hon’b PM @narendramodi ji. As a responsible Indian who has played for the country, I will never accept such words. I made an appeal on your behest for the sake of humanity. But never again. Jai Hind.”
