Twitterati Are Hailing PM Narendra Modi After Donald Trump’s Latest Tweet

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump took to his Twitter and showered praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and people of India in response to the Indian government easing restrictions on the export of anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine that he feels could be a game-changer in the Coronavirus pandemic.

It was the second time in 24 hours, that Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his decision. However, it was a sharp contrast to his earlier interaction with reporters this week when Donald Trump gave a threat to ‘retaliate’ if the restrictions weren’t lifted. Donald Trump wrote:

Extraordinary times require even closer cooperation between friends. Thank you India and the Indian people for the decision on HCQ. Will not be forgotten! Thank you Prime Minister @NarendraModi for your strong leadership in helping not just India, but humanity, in this fight!,”

Here, check out the Tweet:

Earlier in an interview with Fox News, Donald Trump talked about buying more than 29 million tablets of the drug. He also lauded the efforts of the Indian government for the way they are handling the Coronavirus pandemic. Trump had said:

I asked him (PM Modi) if he would release it? He was great. He was really good. You know they put a stop because they wanted it for India. But there is a lot of good things coming from that. Lot of people looking at it and saying, you know I don’t hear bad stories, I hear good stories. And I don’t hear anything where it was causing death,”

For the unversed, India is the largest manufacturer of anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine. As soon as the Tweet of the US President caught eyes, Twitterati came up with amazing reactions of Twitterati on this:
