After the nationwide lockdown on March 24, 2020, many celebs have taken to their social media handles to spread awareness about the benefits of self-isolation and self-distancing. Some of them have also come forward to donate a huge amount of their earnings for the PM-CARES fund or the CM Relief Fund. Popular names like Varun Dhawan, Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, Kapil Sharma are few of them who took this early initiative.
To date, actor Akshay Kumar has been listed as the person who has donated the most amount of money. It has counted up to a huge sum of 25 crores. He donated it to the PM-CARES fund. He shared the news on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.

This is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25 crores from my savings to @narendramodi ji’s PM-CARES Fund. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai. 🙏🏻 https://t.co/dKbxiLXFLS

This proved that our favorite Akki is not only a reel life hero but also he proved himself to be one in real life too! He has received a lot of respect and support from his fans. His wife and actor, Twinkle Khanna also posted a tweet to extend her love for her husband. She further added that at first, she was reluctant about his decision because it was a huge sum of money. Akshay said that when he started in the industry as an actor he had no one to support him. Now that with the continuous love and support of the country’s people he has achieved what he is today, he felt the need to give it back to the community. Man of real substance, isn’t he?
Here is what Twinkle said:
The man makes me proud. When I asked him if he was sure as it was such a massive amount and we needed to liquidate funds, he just said, ‘ I had nothing when I started and now that I am in this position, how can I hold back from doing whatever I can for those who have nothing.’ https://t.co/R9hEin8KF1
