Karan Johar Joins Twitter Antakshari With ‘Laj Ja Gale’ And Got A Funny Reply From Smriti Irani

Sunday, March 22, as the whole nation, observed Janta Curfew at 5 p.m., Indians came together to clap and drum in unison to offer gratitude. Meanwhile, Smriti Irani, former Television star and current minister at the Union Cabinet, held out an antakshari challenge game on the micro-blogging site, Twitter. She wrote:

“We are a 130 crore family so tag karna mushkil hai ki next kaun gaan uthayega isiliye sing / tweet a song coz ye apni marzi wala #TwitterAntakshari hai (it’s difficult to decide who will pick the next song. So, sing or tweet a song because is it #TwitterAntakshari of your choice),” she wrote in her tweet.

To this, celebs, social media influencers, and the entire Netizen clan responded with their wit and humor to keep the #JantaCurfew and #IndiaFightsCorona spirits alive. However, a reply from Karan Johar instantly caught attention of the antakshari participants as he mentioned it was his favorite song. We have heard him sing it at all times he was requested to sing at an appearance.

Karan replied, “Helloji! Antakshari is my favourite time pass activity! To main Zaroor contribute karna chahoonga (So I would like to contribute) …with my favourite song…Lag ja gale …ke phir ye haseen raat ho na ho…Shayad phir is janam mein mulakat ho na ho……ab aapki bari (Now it’s your turn).”

However, the host of the fun challenge noticed that how the song came out quite inappropriate for the time we are dealing with at present.

She replied:

“Lag jaa gale is the wrong song during #corona,” she replied to Karan with some face-palm emojis. Karan was left with no defense but to laugh at his own silliness.

Soon after that Netizens also started reacting to this reply. Let’s see some of them:

A meme was posted in reply:

Smriti also recently was one of the celebs who promoted the Safe Hands Challenge with the World Health Organization. She further nominated filmmaker Ekta Kapoor for the same. Ekta accepted the challenge and shared a video on Instagram of washing her hands.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, so far around 350 cases have been found and the number seems to increase every hour. Prime Minister Modi made it a point to offer gratitude to the medical industry by declaring the Janta Curfew. The government has been taking absolutely responsible measures and encouraging citizens to constantly practice better hygiene.

Let us fight Corona, together!
