Taapsee Pannu Gave It Back To A Producer Who Called Her ‘Female Ayushmann Khurrana’

Taapsee Pannu is one of the most talented and versatile actors of Bollywood. Ever since she entered the Bollywood industry, she has been taking on off-beat topics and on misogyny in her films, be it playing the role of a sharpshooter in Saand Ki Aankh or taking the role of a victim to fight against the odds of this society in ‘Pink’ or against ‘just a slap’ by her husband in Anubhav Sinha’s upcoming movie Thappad.

However, not just in her reel life, the actress is doing so well in real life as well. The actress never shies away from taking a stand on any issue and against sexism. Recently, the actress once again had a courteous way to highlight ‘sexism’ after a popular Bollywood producer called her ‘female Ayushmann Khurrana’ while praising her brilliance.

Well, on Saturday, Taapsee Pannu won the Filmfare award in Best Actress-Critics for her performance in Saand Ki Aankh, along with Bhumi Pednekar. The actress was receiving praises and congratulatory messages from all corners. Amidst all the appreciation, Tanuj Garg, who has produced films like Tumhari Sulu and Lootera, also joined the bandwagon and congratulated the actress.

However, in his tweet, Tanuj called her ‘female Ayushmann Khurrana’. He wrote:

Congrats to the powerhouse @taapsee, humaare #Bollywood ki female Ayushmann Khurrana.”

Well, this didn’t go down well with the actress, who took no time to slam the producer for his ‘sexist’ tweet and correct him by writing:

What about calling me bollywood ki pehli Taapsee Pannu

Here, check out the Tweet:

Twitterati appreciated Taapsee Pannu for her reply and here’s how they reacted:

Talking about her professional front, the actress is gearing up for the release of Thappad. The movie is releasing on February 28. She will then be seen as Mithali Raj in her biopic.
