In a shocking incident, A CISF officer had to open fire at the Azadpur metro station in Delhi. It happened after two passengers started hitting each other at the metro station. The fight escalated when one of the boys made a call and called his friends and relatives for help.

Soon, a group of people allegedly barged into the Metro station premises and began creating “nuisance”. They even hit a CISF constable who was trying to calm down things and avoid disturbance at the station.

Azadpur is, mostly, a very crowded metro station and there is always a huge rush of people. When things started to get out of control, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) had to pull out his service pistol and fire in the air to scare the miscreants. No one was hurt in the firing. The Metro police were soon informed about the situation and a team reached the station.

“Two passengers began fighting at the Metro station. The CISF personnel deployed there brought them to the unpaid area of the station. However, one of the passengers, a minor boy, made a call to his friends and family,” a CISF officer was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

“They beat up the rival passenger and a CISF constable. When the CISF personnel tried to control them, they manhandled them and threatened to harm them,” said the officer.
“The firing was done to save the life of the CISF constable being attacked by the mob. His life was under threat,” said the officer, justifying the firing.
