Virat Kohli is, arguably, the best batsman in world cricket, across all three formats of the game. In the last 5 years or so, he has worked extremely hard on his batting and fitness and taken his game to a new level altogether.

Many cricket pundits and fans across the world say that Virat Kohli is a modern-day legend of the game and by the time he decides to hang his boots, he will surpass most of the batting records, specially in One Day International (ODI) cricket.

In the ongoing ODI series between South Africa and India, Virat Kohli has been at his best, so far. In the first ODI, Virat Kohli scored a brilliant hundred and led India to victory for yet another time. It was a typical Virat Kohli knock in which he didn’t play too many fancy shots and just focused on getting the basics right and put India in a very comfortable situation before getting out.

Virat Kohli countered South Africa’s pace threats brilliantly and he was complimented well by Ajinkya Rahane, who also batted very well for his seventy odd runs. Virat Kohli was also awarded ‘man of the match’ for his hundred.

In the second ODI, Indian bowlers didn’t allow the South African batsmen to settle and dismissed them for a modest total of 118 runs. Yuazvendra Chahal took his maiden five-for in ODI cricket.

In reply, India chased down the total with ease as Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan formed a match-winning partnership for the second wicket after the early dismissal of Rohit Sharma. During India’s innings, Kagiso Rabada, who is the number 1 Test bowler in the world, hit Virat Kohli on his ribs and there were a few words exchanged in the middle.

Kohli and Rabada are both top class cricketers and watching them have a go at each other in the middle has been one of the biggest highlight of India’s tour of South Africa.

It was a serious hit on the ribs for Kohli and he took a few minutes to settle down. The next delivery was again a bouncer but this time, he was ready and pulled it over deep square leg’s head for a big six.

It was a classic reply as Rabada was trying to push the Indian captain on back foot but Kohli put the attack back on him by playing an aggressive shot which went all the way for a six. Watch the video here:
