Vidya Balan is known for her brilliant performances and carrying films on her own. She is keeping no stone unturned to promote her new film ‘Tumhari Sulu’.
However, during the promotion of the film a stupid journalist asked her an awkward question and put her in the spot. The quirky actress slammed the journalist with her response.
As the leading star of the film, she takes full responsibility and promotes her films rigorously. But this time, during the media interaction, she was asked an absurd question. The journalist took a subtle dig at Vidya and called her fat.
He asked her whether she was planning to lose weight and went on to justify the bizarre question by trying to relate it to the actress doing women centric films. He asked the actress if she is planning to continue doing women centric roles or she is ready to lose weight.
Vidya, understandably got confused by the question and asked further clarification from the journalist. She asked him to clarify the correlation between getting thinner and doing women centric roles.
In reply the journalist embarrassed himself more by stating whether she is planning to do more glamourous mainstream roles by losing some extra kilos.
Then the actress gave a solid reply to the journalist which shut him up. She said that she is very happy with her choice of films but a change of mindset of people like him would be welcome.
This is not the first time that she has spoken publicly about the issue. She previously explained that she is very comfortable in her own skin and won’t strive for a superficial appearance that is glorified by the people in media.
We could expect nothing less that this brilliant response from the actress. She has often stood up against body-shaming and answered this stupid question like a tigress.
