Indian weddings are famous all over the world for their flamboyance and “fatness”. In the urban areas of India, ‘theme weddings’ are very famous. From extravagant photoshoots to ultra-luxurious resorts, big fat Indian weddings never fail to amaze us with creativity and innovation.

We have seen couples getting married in the middle of the sea. We have seen bride and groom go 25 feet in the air on a revolving podium to put garlands on each other. And, we have also seen them fall from the podium and break their bones.

But, a couple in Andhra Pradesh has surprised one and all by organising a ‘god themed’ wedding. Yes, you read it right and we have pictures to win your trust ;).

On this god themed wedding, the bride, groom and their parents came dressed as Gods. The bride, Harishita, is the daughter of a godman and his name Sridhara Swami.

Sridhara Swami enjoys a good following in the two Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and even has an ashram in Tanuku.

Speaking to The News Minute, Sridhara Swami said, “During the olden days, weddings used to happen in this manner only. We used to follow the ‘sanathana’ traditions. Weddings used to take place in a pious manner. To replicate the same and inculcate the same pious feeling, we conducted it this way.”
