Navjot Singh Sidhu has been receiving a lot of criticism from around the country because of his visit to Pakistan and also hugging their Army Chief, which has now become a big controversy.

From social media to the headlines of the leading newspapers to many new channels, everyone is criticizing Navjot singh Sidhu’s act of hugging the Army Chief and visiting the oath taking ceremony of Imran Khan in Pakistan.

However, Imran Khan, the new PM of Pakistan has now finally come up in support of Navjot Singh Sidhu and has called him a ‘Ambassador of peace’. Yes, he took to his twitter handle to support Navjot Singh Sidhu on his visit to Pakistan.

I want to thank Sidhu for coming to Pakistan for my oath taking. He was an ambassador of peace & was given amazing love & affection by ppl of Pakistan. Those in India who targeted him are doing a gt disservice to peace in the subcontinent – without peace our ppl cannot progress “

The tweet read:
To move forward Pakistan and India must dialogue and resolve their conflicts incl Kashmir: The best way to alleviate poverty and uplift the people of the subcontinent is to resolve our differences through dialogue and start trading.”

Navjot Singh Sidhu also spoke about the hug that has created the controversy, he said:

“The Pak Army chief said they were making efforts to open a corridor from India’s Dera Baba Nanak to the historic Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib. What followed was an emotional moment,” 

Sidhu also showed respect towards the Punjab CM Amarinder Singh, who also criticized the act of Sidhu. Talking about him, he said :

“It is not necessary that just because the Captain has spoken against me, I should too,”
